Columbus UK C2C Cycle Challenge

Columbus UK C2C Cycle Challenge

An intrepid group of cyclists set off in the heat last weekend to complete the coast to coast cycle challenge fundraising for Team Lewis Trust. Craig Cameron and a group of colleagues from Columbus UK successfully completed the 135 mile route which includes 10000 feet of climbing. It wasn't plain sailing at all. A few of the hills came on a bit keen for some after training in gentle Cheshire and 4 miles before the finish one of the team came off their bike and ended up in A&E with a broken elbow. Our thoughts are with them for a speedy recovery. Dipping their wheels in the North sea and some brilliant fish & chips at Roker Pier were the rewards at the end. At the time of writing an amazing £3342.22 has been raised and we're very grateful indeed to those tired legs.
